Ultra-fine Aluminum Hydroxide -- "pollution-free flame retardant"

Flame retardants can be divided into organic and inorganic flame retardants. Among the inorganic flame retardants, aluminum hydroxide is chemically inert, non-toxic and will not produce secondary pollution because of its flame retardant, smoke suppression and filling functions. Advantages of aluminum hydroxide flame retardant

Application of aluminum hydroxide flame retardant 

1. Unsaturated polyester 

in the use of unsaturated polyester casting production of a variety of high voltage or low voltage electrical switches, adding aluminum hydroxide can make the product has flame retardant, smoke suppression and arc resistance.Because the whiteness of high white aluminum hydroxide is more than 93%, there is a certain crystalline form, and has a similar refractive coefficient with polyester resin, in recent years, polyester resin and aluminum hydroxide are commonly used at home and abroad to make a new decorative material -- "artificial agate". 

2. Epoxy resin

 in epoxy resin, aluminum hydroxide has a significant effect on improving the oxygen index, such as adding 80 aluminum hydroxide in 100 epoxy resin, oxygen index can be increased from the original 20.0 to 27.5, such epoxy resin can be used for sealing materials, castings, epoxy glass fiber sheets, etc..Epoxy resin filled with aluminum hydroxide also has great development prospects in making transformers, insulating equipment, switchgear and so on. 

3. thermoplastic

The most common type of thermoplastic that uses aluminum hydroxide as a flame retardant is polyvinyl chloride.Alumina hydroxide can be easily mixed into plasticized polyvinyl chloride instead of calcium carbonate.In order to achieve a high standard of flame retardancy, one is the combination of aluminum hydroxide and phosphate plasticizer, another method is the combination of aluminum hydroxide and zinc borate, these formulas have been used in PVC wire, cable material.In addition, such as polyethylene and polypropylene combustibility polyolefin plastic products with high filling amount of aluminum hydroxide, as well as flame retardant, and through the new surface treatment technology in recent years, can make the high filling quantity of polyolefin composite reaction more easily through die casting processing, improve the tensile strength and impact resistant performance of the product, make it widely used in electrical conduit and equipment coat. 

4. Synthetic rubber

 aluminum hydroxide in rubber not only can be used as flame retardant, and can be used as reinforcing agent for styrene butadiene rubber latex foam rubber and carpet bottom rubber adhesive, can also be used for paving neoprene rubber.In addition, aluminum hydroxide also plays an important role in improving the resistance of silicon rubber to leakage.
